Black Ice

Yeah, so we got in an accident. It was redic. I have included a diagram of what happened since you all know how I love diagrams.

So basically we had a run in with Black Ice. Which sounds like a death metal band from the 80s but really it is a thin sheet of ice that makes the roads look only slighty damp, like after a subtle mist. This is decieving, however, since it is way more slick than snow. I was so shocked when I got out of the van after the accident and almost biffed it on the shoulder of the highway. It just looks slightly wet, not icy at all.

We are so lucky to have no one hurt. If we had gone of the road we would have flipped, if there were more cars behind us we could have been blindsided on the side I was sitting on no less. So we thank the Lord. In addition to the fact that we didn't die, we took the van in to the body shop today and the automechanic cut off part of the bumper, bent parts back into relative position, replaced a headlight bulb, put new plastic over the parking light on that side, bunjeed and taped both the headlight and parking light into place...all for...get this...free. REDIC. He didn't even charge us for the parts!

I'll post more later. YE pics have been updated.

in Christ,
jason

Black Ice is a myth, just a stupid word used to dramatize things. Guess what, water plus cold equals ice. Period. I know, "Black Ice" sounds so much more menacing and dangerous but it makes yo sound like a real dumb ass when you use it.
