Stick it to the intern

So it's been about a week and I promised my readers that I would keep this thing relatively up-to-date. And by relatively, I mean that in comparison to 3 months of silence it will be down right frequent (But in all seriousness, once a week is healthy...and given Brian's recent break-up with the internet I find spending time with it more and more awkward. It just sulks and casually asks me things like, "so....how IS brian doing? I just want what's best for him." I don't know, I guess I knew the internet first, but Brian has really been there for me ya know? The internet didn't attend my going-away party dressed like an M&M...ah but it did help me post pictures from the party...I'm so torn).

So...work. It's been a little crazy lately. I've sorta been pulling a George Castanza at work lately. Ya know, act frustrated and intense while looking at my computer screen so people don't bug me with stuff I can't help them with. But it wasn't always this way...no wait, I mean it's NOT like it hasn't always been this way. But it just gets annoying. But I am doing stuff, just not the critical stuff that everyone needs done. Why not you ask? Let me back up.

This isn't public knowledge so I'm going to type anonymous company names. I officially work for .Hcet Muinegni. This company's owner owns half of Enihcam & Loot Yellav Yrrehc and I spend most of my time at that location with 3 other HM employees. Well...like last week sometime the ELYY owner bought out the HM owner's shares. I come back to work on tuesday and I'm the only HM employee at ELYY! My boss totally isn't there. Well this is kinda a problem because he tells me what I need to be working on, what's a priority, and furthermore he has an adequate knowledge of the system at ELYY because he's been working with it for years. Some of things they need done require my boss's presence. So anyway, he's not there on tuesday...no note...nothing. So I just try and find stuff to do. Well the pressure to complete some of the HM projects that were sort of left hanging starts falling on my shoulders because I'm the only HM employee there, but I know nothing about completely some of these projects. My boss knows that I'm there because he emailed me, but he still pretty much leaves me to fend for myself amongst the ELYY dogs. Anyways, I remain the only HM employee there for the next two days!! Then the ELYY manager comes in and says, "So what are you doing...like...right now?" which is sort of a kin to, "What is it you say...ya do here?" So I told him what I was working on. I was doing something, it just wasn't anything high on the priority list because my boss wasn't around to aid in that stuff. And he was all, "Well we need to talk about your role here..." blah blah, and I was all, "Yeah, I understand...well Alec hasn't been around for 3 days..." blah and he was all, "Well when he gets here we're gonna have a talk because HM charges premium for their consulting..." bla.

Anyway, my boss Alec swoops in and assures the ELYY manager Roger that I am working on very important stuff....WHAT!? So like, Alec knows that the critical stuff isn't getting done because he didn't get me started on it, and he knows I've been working on a program that will only make sense after other more critical stuff is accomplished. So I have to wonder...is Alec really just blind to the fact that I could spend like 3hours a day at ELYY and get the same amount of critical work done? Or is he really brilliant, using me as a pawn to suck ELYY for more money? I don't know. I kinda feel like that. "Leave the intern to clean up all the loose ends at ELYY and fend for himself." It's pretty funny actually. And secondly, I could be out of a job once my work at ELYY is done because HM hired me with working there in mind, they may not have other work for me to do now. So it's in my best interest to George Castanza the whole thing as long as possible. Jenny and I agreed that it might be fun to test the whole "pawn" theory by making myself blatanlty incompitent in the eyes of HM while maintaining some level of trust with ELYY. If HM keeps me at ELYY despite my deficiencies, then I know they are just sucking ELYY's bank account...twisted huh.

I'll probably do nothing.

in Christ,
jason

Alright Jason I actually really know this quote so I am going to answer. No cheats. Ok it really actually goes "Wise men say, forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza." That was in the first Ninja Turtle movie.
